The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications and its Role as a Regulatory Authority in Food Safety in South Africa

In September 2008, the Regulatory Division of the SABS became a new, separate statutory entity of the Department of Trade and Industry called the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications. Mr Michael Young, Senior Manager, Dept Food and Associated Industries of the NRCS will be updating members on the changes made with particular reference to the role that his department has to play in food safety and control in South Africa.
