The Way Forward for Professional Associations and Occupations in the Future
Speaker: Mike Davies, Optimum Learning Technologies

Mr Davies is a BCom graduate of Rhodes University and has diplomas in education and in industrial relations. He has received numerous awards for human resource management and is a Fellow of the Institute of Training Management. As chairman of the Food Manufacturing Standard Generating Body and of the Generic Management Standard Generating body in addition to being a panel member of the SA Qualifications Authority for Management Leadership and Manufacturing and a facilitator for the FoodBev SETA for the development of new QCTO qualifications, Mike Davies is an individual who every food science professional should be eager to meet.

His presentation will deal with the changing landscape of SETA's and the amalgamation thereof. It will cover the new National Human Resource Development Strategy, the proposed Qualifications Council for Trade and Occupations and he will share his ideas regarding the professional registration of a food technologist with respect to pivotal programmes and occupation and career development.

  • From Pretoria, take the N1 South
