SAAFoST Northern Branch Lecture

Dear Northern Branch Members,

Visiting Professor Ahussein Mohammed Al-Awaadhi (Assiry) of Food Process Engineering of the Agricultural Engineering Department at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be spending a few days at the University of Pretoria and has kindly agreed to address SAAFoST Members and guests in the Ralph Hirzel Auditorium of the Meat Industry Centre at the ARC-Irene on Thursday 27 October.

Prof Assiry has a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from the King Saud University and an MSc and PhD from the Colorado State University in the USA. His research interests include the development of palm and date products and processes, solar desalination, nanofiltration of food materials, aseptic and thermal processing, non-thermal aseptic processing, ohmic heating and extrusion. He is a member of the International Society of Food Engineering.

Join us for possibly our first ever presentation on palm date products.
