The SAAFoST Custodian Breakfast
The annual Custodian Member get-together and breakfast - an ideal opportunity to commemorate another successful year of Custodian Membership and the transformation of SAAFoST that it continues to bring about.
It is an opportunity to network with SAAFoST Council, Committee Members, other Custodians and invited guests, in the interests of promoting the effectiveness of the Association and the development of its Members.
Let's hear and share ideas and opinions over an English Breakfast Buffet, one of the most popular breakfasts at the Woodmead Country Club, and then hear what our highly respected and extremely well-informed and experienced guest speaker, Dr John Purchase, as CEO of Agbiz, has to tell us about our life-blood, agribusiness!
Presentation Title: South African Agriculture and Agribusiness: prospects and challenges
The Speaker: Dr John Purchase
John Purchase is the CEO Agbiz, the Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa.
Prior to being appointed to his present position in 2007, he was the CEO of Grain SA.
He has served on the board of the Land and Agricultural Bank of SA, on the DAFF CEO Forum and Reference Group, the Presidential Business Working Group, the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) and is a council member of the National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC), a trustee of the Maize Trust and Chairman of the Board of SA Grain Information Services (SAGIS). Awards include Alumnus of the Year from the University of the Free State and South African Agriculturalist of the Year (2012) from the SA Agricultural Writers Association. John Purchase is an Honorary Member of FERTASA, the highest Award for service excellence to South African Agriculture.

The SAAFoST Council is very grateful for the support received from Custodian Members in 2016 and looks forward to their continued participation in maintaining SAAFoST as a national asset in an ever changing and challenging environment.
