Food Science professionals need to be aware of the growing requirement for their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CPD points are to become compulsory for registered Natural Scientists and anyone active in a given field of practice (such as Food Science and Technology).
In terms of section 18 of the SACNASP Act of 2003, it is necessary to register as a Professional Natural Food Scientist in one category or another, with SACNASP (South African Council for National Scientific Professionals).
